Gates of Lake Mburo National Park: Lake Mburo National Park is situated in the south western part of Uganda; it’s the country’s smallest national park covering an area of about 260 kilometers squared. The park is characterized by acacia woodlands, Savannah grasslands, swamps and lakes.

Lake Mburo national park has got two main gates that can be seen below:

Sanga gate

The Sanga gate can be accessed from Sanga trading center, it’s about 24 kilometers from the twin center.

Nshara gate

The Nshara gate of Lake Mburo is about 8 kilometers from the main road its also not far from the parks headquarters. Lake Mburo national park is gifted with various wildlife species, tourists can take game drives in the park and view animals such as; zebras, impalas, leopards, jackals, hyenas, buffalos, elands, topis, waterbucks, bush bucks, reed bucks, bush duikers and many more.

Lake Mburo national park is also birders paradise, the park boasts with over 351 bird species some of the examples of birds on Lake Mburo national park are; yellow papyrus gonolek, brown chested wattled plover, tabora cisticola, African fin foot, saddle billed stork, rare shoebill stork and many others.

Lake Mburo national park is an ideal place to stop over for relaxation when coming back from hectic gorilla trekking or wildlife watching in the far western national parks. Tourists can take boat cruises on the striking lake Mburo and view a lot of aquatic birds and animals. Lake Mburo national park is also a good place for recreational activities like fishing, tourists must come with their own fishing gears, obtain a fishing permit and hire a fishing guide and also make sure that fishing g is done in the restricted areas.
