Day 1: Transfer to volcanoes national park and golden monkey trekking
As early as 4:00am, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to volcanoes national park on reaching the park, you will make your way to the reception for a briefing session for golden monkey trekking and after embark on hiking the Virunga mountains to access the habituated golden monkey troops.
While hiking the mountains, you will get to watch a number of rewarding attractions from the numerous bird species like long-crested eagle handsome Francolin, Rwenzori Batis Dusky turtle love, paradise flycatcher, archer’s ground robin, African Rwenzori, double collared sunbird, marsh harrier, Ruwenzori turaco, common moorhen Ruwenzori night jar, grey throated tit, the dusky crimson wing, red-faced woodland warbler and primates like the Mona monkey, vervet monkey, black and white colobus monkey among other attractions.
When you get to the habituated golden monkey troops, you will spend an hour with the species understanding more about their behavior as you take pictures. after the safari experience, you will make your way back to your starting point, have lunch and later on visit the ibyi’wacu cultural group to understand more about the culture of the people of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight stay at your selected hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national and departure
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, with your packed lunch, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to volcanoes national park to embark on gorilla trekking in Rwanda, volcanoes national park which also involves hiking the Virunga mountains which will give you access to the habituated gorilla families as they go about their daily activities.
You will get the opportunity to spend an hour with them taking their pictures and also get the chance to ask as many questions about the species. After head back to your starting point where they will present you a gorilla trekking certificate and after be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kigali city and the end of your 2 days primate trekking in volcanoes national park.
