6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Kigali
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a company representative from our Rwanda tours and travel company and guide who greet you and transfer to Kigali city. Depending on the time of your arrival, you will go for a short city tour with in Kigali and visit the genocide memorial sites. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel des Mille Collines for luxury /Hotel ChezLando for Budget/Golden Hills Hotel for mid range
Day 2: Transfer to Parc National Des Volcans
After an early morning breakfast, you will then transfer to Parc National Des Volcans which is found in the northern area of the country. The park is well known for its rare mountain gorillas and therefore Gorilla trekking is its major tourism activity. Upon arrival you will go for Ruhengeri city tour, after, transfer to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury / Gorilla nest lodge or Virunga Lodge for Mid range/Kinigi Guest house or Muhabura lodge for Budget.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans
Breakfast will be served early and together with your lunch pack, you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger guides on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Rwanda. The park rangers will then lead you deep into the bamboo slopes of Volcanoes national park, trekking until you find the gorillas.
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda can last between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and you will be allow 1 hour (the best hour of this 6 Days Rwanda safari) to view and take photos of these gentle giants as they go about their lifestyle. When all is done, you will return to the starting point for your certificate.
Return for dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury / Gorilla nest lodge or Virunga Lodge for Mid range / Kinigi Guest house or Muhabura lodge for Budget.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and transfer to Gisenyi
After breakfast, you will go for golden monkey tracking. This activity also takes like 2-3 hours in the Virunga forest. Later return back to your lodge for early lunch and transfer to Gisenyi town. The town offers beautiful and excellent views of Lake Kivu and it’s a great place to relax while feeling its waterfront and sandy beaches.
Upon arrival, you will have and then spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing or visit the host springs which will help you learn more about the formation of the Virunga Volcanic Mountains. Alternatively you can also visit the local projects in the area and interact with project members or visit the local artisans and a local women’s weaving association. Overnight in Gisenyi town
Day 5: Full day in Gisenyi
You will have breakfast in the morning and then spend a full day in the town of Gisenyi. On this day you will visit the shores of Lake Kivu for swimming. In the evening, visit the Local market, you will also move around the streets while looking at the old colonial buildings. Dinner and overnight in Gisenyi.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali City
Breakfast will be served early this day and then after, you will check out from your Hotel and later transfer to Kigali. Depending on the time of your flight, you will be dropped off at the Airport for your flight back home with memories of your 6 Days Rwanda Safari.
