Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Kigali
Upon arrival at Kanombe International Airport for your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, you will be picked up by one of the professional guides from our Rwanda travel company who will welcome you, greet you and transfer to Kigali city. Depending on the time of your arrival, you will go for a short city tour with in Kigali and visit the Kigali genocide memorial site. Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast on this second day of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, you will set out for Nyungwe forest National Park. En route you will visit Butare town, visit the famous King’s Palace in Nyanza, visit the art museum at Rwesero Nyanza and also the National Museum of Rwanda in Butare which will definitely provide you with a deeper insight into Rwandan history and culture.
Proceed to Nyungwe National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in into your Hotel and later spend the evening trekking to the Colobus Monkeys, hiking through lush forests, endless, green tea fields and taking in the stunning views of your surroundings. Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe forest
After breakfast on this third day of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, report to the park headquarters in Nyungwe forest for briefing before going for chimpanzee tracking. However, it is advisable to organize packed lunch and plenty of water prior to this expedition since it can sometimes last over 6 hours.
In the forest, you will not only see chimpanzees to but also variety of animals and birds like the Rwenzori Turacco, black and white casqued horn bill, colobus monkeys – sometimes as many as 400 in a group. Day 4: Nature walk and transfer back to Kigali city
Early morning after breakfast on this fourth day of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, you will go for a nature walk to search for different bird species. Return back to the lodge for your packed lunch and return to Kigali city. Drop off will be at your Hotel in Kigali.
Day 5: Transfer to Ruhengeri/Parc National Des Volcans
After breakfast at the Hotel on this fifth day of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, you will transfer to Parc National Des Volcans which is found in the northern area of the country. The park is well known for its rare mountain gorillas and there fore Gorilla trekking is its major tourism activity. Upon arrival you will go for Ruhengeri city tour, after, transfer to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for Mid range / Kinigi Guest house or Muhabura lodge for Budget.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the ORTPN officials on this magical day of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, set off for the gorilla tracking. This experience of gorilla tracking is a once in a life time adventure. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search for the Gorillas.
You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about 1 hour (the best hour of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari). The activity in Rwanda can take 3-5 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awe some and exciting moment.
En-route, there are a lot of chimpanzees and other types of primates such as the monkeys, birds and more. Return for lunch at the Lodge and in the afternoon, visit the Karisoke research center and the grave of Dian Fossey a woman who was murdered because she was protecting these endangered mountain Gorillas. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for Mid range/Kinigi Guest house or Muhabura lodge for Budget.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Trekking and transfer back to Kigali
After breakfast on this last day of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari, you will go for golden monkey tracking. This activity also takes like 2-3 hours in the Virunga forest. Later return back to your lodge for early lunch and transfer back to Kigali city reaching in the afternoon. Depending on your time of departure, you will either be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home or be dropped off at your Hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay at your own expenses marking the end of your 7 Days Rwanda Safari.
