Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali & Transfer to Bwindi

Following your arrival, your guide will pick you up from the airport or any other agreed place of pick up in Kigali and depending on time, go for a short tour of Kigali city that includes a visit to Kimironko market and the genocide memorial. Have lunch and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park crossing into Uganda through Katuna boarder. Proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Musanze.

Wake up to a tasty breakfast in the biting coldness of Bwindi. Enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee, grab your packed lunch and head out to the pack headquarters – just a short distance from the lodge. Here, you will receive briefing about the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking in Bwindi, know which group you will be visiting and set off with your head guide.
Enter the forest in search of the Gorillas and upon finding them, you will be allowed to spend up to a maximum of hour with them.

After the trek, meet your driver / guide and transfer to Musanze / Ruhengeri crossing through Cyanika boarder and arriving Musanze in the evening

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe.
Breakfast will be served early and embark on the drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park with lunch en-route.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy walk.

Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk, a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 5: Return to Kigali & Departure

Enjoy breakfast at leisure and transfer back to Kigali. If the city tour wasn’t possible on the day of arrival, you will have a brief city tour and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
