7 Days Uganda Rwanda Tour Overview
Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
On your arrival, our tour representative/guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Holiday Express Hotel/Cassia Lodge/Sheraton Hotel/Serena Hotel (BB)
Day 2, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park
Early morning you will be picked up from your Hotel in Kampala and our tour guide will transfer you to South Western Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park which hosts almost half of the World’s endangered Mountain Gorillas. En route to the Park, you will have a stop over at Mpambire drum village and at the Equator at Kayabwe where water experiments will be done to prove to you that you are in both atmospheres (Southern and Northern Hemisphere).
Proceed and have a lunch stopover in Mbarara town and then later drive towards the Park. Later after lunch you will transfer to the Park headquarters at Buhoma. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort camp for Luxury or Lake Kitandara Luxury tented camp for mid range or Buhoma community Bandas for budget
Day 3, Gorilla trek in Bwindi forest Park
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the UWA officials, set off for the gorilla tracking. This is a once life time experience and unforgettable adventure. The ranger guides will lead you into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about1hour.
The activity can take 6-7 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awe some and exciting moment. Enroute there are a lot of chimpanzees and other types of the primates such as the monkeys, birds and so more. Return for dinner and over night stay at Buhoma Homestead /Gorilla Resort camp/ Gorilla Forest Camp for Luxury or Lake Kitandara Luxury tented camp/Mantana Engangi Bwindi Lodge for mid range or Buhoma community Bandas/Bwindi View for budget
Day 4, Transfer to Rwanda
After breakfast, you will drive to Kisoro to across the Uganda –Rwanda– Kyanika Border. Have lunch en route and arrive at your lodge in the afternoon. You should be aware of the time difference between these two neighboring countries (Rwanda is one hour behind of Uganda). Upon arrival you will go for Ruhengeri city tour, after, transfer to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury/Gorilla nest lodge or Virunga Lodge for Mid range/Kinigi Guest house or Muhabura lodge for Budget
Day 5, Gorilla tracking in Rwanda
This will be your second time to track these endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas. The tracking time in Rwanda is different from the tracking time in Uganda. Most of the Gorilla groups in Rwanda are very near and therefore the time taken to track these gorillas is also not much. Retire to your Hotel for lunch and short evening walk around the area. Day 6, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda
After breakfast, you will transfer to Katuna Border (Rwanda-Ugandan border). After clearing with the customs and immigrations department, you will transfer to Kabale Town for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi reaching in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the afternoon on the boat ride touring most of the Islands on the Lake. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi safari Resort/Bunyonyi Overland Camp.
Day 7, Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala having lunch en route in Mbarara town. Arrive in Kampala late evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your Hotel.
