You will spend roughly one and half hours flying from Entebbe Airport to Kisoro airstrip and then spend another 30 minutes driving to the park.

Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Mgahinga Fly-In Gorilla Trekking.
Day 1: Pickup from Entebbe and Fly to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Fly to Mgahinga: On the first day of your 3 Days Mgahinga fly-in gorilla trekking safari, you will be picked up by your guide from Entebbe International Airport. You will be taken to your respective boarding station where you will board a domestic flight to Kisoro airstrip. The morning flights to Kisoro leave a 7am in the morning and takes about 1⅟₂ to 2 hours depending on the flight routings. Once you arrive at the airstrip, you will find your guide waiting for you at the airstrip.
Boat Ride on Lake Mutanda: Your guide will drive you to Lake Mutanda where you will embark on a boat ride to explore the lake. Get to listen to old folk tales of the local fishermen, sing along to tradition folk songs, and enjoy the beautiful scenery at the lake and its surrounding areas. There are lots of bird species that you will see around the lake such as;
Evening Cultural Encounter: You can later choose to pay a visit to any of the nearby Batwa communities in Kisoro. Get to learn more about the ancient Batwa culture, its beautiful and hospitable people, and also get to watch entertaining dance performances from the locals.
Head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Gorilla Resort/Travelers Rest Hotel/Mutanda Lake Resort.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Trail Experience.
Gorilla Trekking: Have breakfast early in the morning from your lodge and then met up with your guide. It is advisable that your carry with you some snacks and your packed lunch from your lodge before heading out. Gorilla trekking is usually a long and tedious activity so you need to keep yourself hydrated and energized throughout your trekking activity. Your safari guide will drive you to the park’s headquarters in Ntebeko where your gorilla trekking experience will begin. You are required to check in at the park by 7am, so endeavor to keep time. You will be required to sign into the visitor’s register, which will be followed by a short briefing from the head ranger at the park.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park currently has two habituated gorilla groups which include the Nyakagezi group, and the Hirwa group which recently migrated from Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. You will be tracking one of these two gorilla groups.
The actual gorilla trekking activity in Mgahinga national park will commence at exactly 8am. Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park is conducted in groups of a maximum of 8 members. Tracking mountain gorillas in this park usually takes between 4-6 hours; with an hour of direct contact with the gorillas.
Batwa Trail Experience: Have your packed lunch and rest for a short while. You will then embark on a cultural experience, the ‘Batwa Trail Experience.’ This cultural experience is conducted by local Batwa guides, who have been hired by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), to take tourists on an interesting and cultural journey into the renowned ‘Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.’ The Bwindi forest has played a very significant role in the lives of the Batwa people, and their connection and dependence on the forest dates back to ancient history. This indigenous group lived in the forest for quite a long time and hence they have quite a strong connection and knowledge of the forest. During this experiential journey, you get to learn traditional Batwa hunting methods, make local herbal medicine and so much more.
Later head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe & Departure.
Transfer to Entebbe: Get up in the morning, have your breakfast and check out of your hotel/lodge. Your Driver will meet you at the lodge and drive you will proceed with your transfer back to Entebbe. You will have a stopover at the Equator monuments at Kayabwe in Mpigi district. You can take some pictures and even grab some souvenirs from the nearby craft shops. Lunch will be en-route to Kampala city, the capital of Uganda. Proceed with your drive to Entebbe where your guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport in time to catch your evening flight back home. End of Tour.
