Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer Kibale forest national park
Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park with a stopover in Fort portal town for lunch and a visit to the crater lakes in Fort portal and Amabere G’anyinamwiru (a unique stalagmites site with amazing caves and a waterfall). Proceed to Kibale forest arriving late afternoon. Diner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge/ Isunga Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Nature walk
Spend the morning tracking the exuberant chimp families in the Kibale forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, is a thrilling experience. Though they can be difficult to spot, you will be in no doubt of their presence as the forest is alive with their noisy calls.
Return to the lodge for lunch and embark on a guided nature walk in the forested park. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge/ Isunga Lodge as above
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha
Enjoy early morning breakfast and make an early start on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park driving through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where on a lucky day, you can see the tree climbing lions and enjoy lunch en-route.
Continue and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park arriving in the evening. Check in to your hotel, unwind, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay at Silverback Gorilla Lodge/ Buhoma Haven Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.
After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return. Your driver guide will drive you back to the lodge to relax and spend another night.
Day 5: Kampala and departure.
Enjoy an early morning breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route in Mbarara town and a stopover at the equator arriving Kampala in the evening. Drop off at the Airport for
