3 days Akagera National Park Safari : This three days Akagera national park will help you explore the only national park in Rwanda where you will get to participate in the game drives in Rwanda and also watch the big five animals in Rwanda. The boat cruise on lake Ihema will help you watch a number of water birds like the endangered shoebill stork, African Darter, African Wattled Lapwing, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Common Squacco Heron, Crowned Lap wing, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Great Egret. You can participate in the community tour where you will get to observe the different activities of the locals and you will get to experience their cultural through their food that you will get to taste in case you’re interested, traditional folk songs, traditional dances among other tourism attractions that will make your Rwanda safari quite memorable.
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark on the late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Mid-range) Rusizi tented camp (Luxury)
Day 2: Early morning game drive and afternoon community tour
On the 2nd day of your 3 days Akagera National Park Safari, Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide and drive back to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will embark on a community cultural tour to one of the local communities neighboring the park. Get an opportunity to interact with the friendly locals and watch dance and singing performances from the local dance troupe. You can also visit some craft stalls in the community and support the local community by purchasing a few souvenirs for yourself and loved ones. Day 3: Morning game drive and Transfer Back to Kigali.
On the 3rd day of your 3 days Akagera National Park Safari, After your early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you and transfer you to the park to participate in an early morning game drive where you will get to see a number of game animals like the elephants and rhinos grazing within the plains, you will watch a number of carnivores in the park hunting for their prey.
After your experience, your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home. You can do a city tour on this day if you didn’t get to do it on your first day. End of Rwanda Safari Tour.
