This 5 days Karisimbi hike and chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda will give you the chance to embark on chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda, Nyungwe national park which will give you access to the habituated chimpanzee troops in either Cyamudongo forest or Nyungwe forest and also get to participate in the canopy walk in Rwanda which will give you the opportunity to observe the park from an aerial view as you walk along the metallic walkway suspended in the canopy of the park which will help you watch a number of rewarding attractions in the park from the Albertine endemic species, you will also get the opportunity to access a number of primate species like the black and white colobus monkey, Mona monkey vervet monkey and ,many other rewarding features and for the adventure travellers, you will have the opportunity to embark on mount karisimbi hike a memorable safari experience in Rwanda.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes NP.
Depending on your location in Kigali city, you will be met by your tour guide/driver as early as 5 am to set off to Volcanoes National park-home to the remaining mountain gorillas in the world, connect directly to the park headquarters for a briefing about the activity as early as 7am, you will then be allocated the ranger guides and you head for the hike. Karisimbi volcano is the highest of the 8 mount peaks of Virunga conservation region shared by Mgahinga national park, Virunga national park and volcanoes national park in Rwanda. get ready to be mesmerized by a number of spectacular and magnificent views of different volcanoes including Nyiragongo and Nyamuragira volcanoes in the neighboring Congo. The hike is strenuous and challenging but worthy of the time you get to spend hiking it and interesting enough it will take you about 6 hours to reach the first stop at the campsite at an altitude of where you will spend a night.
Day 2: Reach the summit, descend and return to Kigali
After early morning breakfast at your camp, you will embark on an hour’s hike to the summit where you will have the most rewarding and spectacular views. At this level the hike is very steep going through trials of thick jungles surrounded by stunning scenery. On reaching at the summit, enjoy amazing views of the surrounding areas like mount Muhabura in the neighboring Mgahinga national \park in Uganda. After enjoying your time at the summit descend to the starting point and embark on your journey back to Kigali city
DAY 3: TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Nyungwe forest National park. the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en-route. Arriving at your hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe hill top view hotel.
DAY 4 : CHIMPANZEE TRACKING AND CANOPY WALK.
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in either Nyungwe forest or Cyamudongo forest. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos as you also get to engage with the wild. You will then return to your hotel to freshen up, have lunch then check out and later in the afternoon participate in the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from the forest canopy. Dinner and overnight stay as the night before.
DAY 5: TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on your journey back to Kigali city where if time allows, you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial museum, kimironko market and later transfer to the airport for your onward flight or dropped at your hotel and the end of your Rwanda safari.
