Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Rwanda Rwanda Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Following your arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative/driver guide and transfer you to your hotel in Volcanoes national park arriving Ruhengeri for dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Hotel ( Budget)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)/ Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel (Luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes NP Rwanda.
Wakeup to an early morning breakfast and report to the park headquarters for briefing and allocation of Gorilla trekking groups. Later, you will head into the cold and misty forested slopes of Volcanoes national park for your Gorilla trek.
The trek can be anywhere between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas and upon finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to see and take photos after which you exit the forest.
Meet your driver / guide and transfer back to the lodge. If you feel strong, you may opt for a cultural tour at Ibyi’wacu Cultural tour. Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Hotel (Budget)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)/ Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel (Luxury)
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking
Breakfast will be served early and drive back to the park headquarters for briefing and Golden Monkey trekking. The procedure is the same as Gorilla trekking but lasts only 3 to 5 hours and return to the lodge to have lunch and spend the rest of your evening resting at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Hotel (Budget)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)/ Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel (Luxury)
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe
Wake up at leisure and have a relaxed breakfast. You will then meet up with your guide and embark on a 5-6 hours drive to Nyungwe national park. You will have a few stopovers along the way to give you chance to explore other sites like Lake Kivu where you can do a boat cruise. You can also opt for a visit to the environmental museum at Karongi. You will have lunch enroute to Nyungwe. Arrive in Nyungwe late in the afternoon and check into your hotel. Refreshen up and spend the rest of your evening relaxing at your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guesthouse (Budget), Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Luxury)/ One and Only Nyungwe House (Luxury)
Day 5: Canopy walk and optional Tea Tour
Have breakfast at your lodge and drive to the park headquarters at 9am for a Canopy walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. The canopy walk is a 2 hour hike (to and from), so you will be able to drive back to your hotel in time for lunch. After lunch, you can opt to go out for a tea tour at Gisakura tea estate or simply start back at your lodge and rest. Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guesthouse (Budget)/Nyungwe Top hill view hotel (Midrange)/ One & Only Nyungwe House (Luxury).
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trek &Transfer Back to Kigali (Approximately 6 hours drive)
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 4 hours. You will then exit and connect to Kigali for dinner and overnight at Step Town Hotel (Budget)/Des Milles Collines hotel (Midrange)/ Kigali Marriot Hotel (Luxury)
Day 7: Kigali City Tour (Optional) and Departure
Wake up at leisure and have breakfast at your hotel. You may opt for a tour of Kigali city where you will visit places such as Caplaki craft village, do horseback riding at Fazenda Sengha, Kimironko market, Kigali Genocide museum, Umusambi crane village to mention but a few. Drop off at Kigali airport.
