Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO KIGALI
At a location of your choice in Kigali city, you will be picked up by your guide to transfer you to Nyungwe National Park home to the chimpanzees in Rwanda. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda, and the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en route. After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you and thereafter connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Visitor Centre/ Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel
DAY 2: KAMIRANZOVU HIKE AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, your driver guide will pick you up to transfer you to the park to participate in the Kamiranzovu trail hike. Embarking on the trail is one of the most rewarding adventures that you should not miss out which will lead you to the rewarding Kamiranzovu swamp where you can find the swamp at the end of the trail. The swamp is believed to have killed a number of elephants within the park, they were trapped in the marsh, and at the end, you will find a skull of the elephant at the end which acts as evidence for the tragic events that took place but it should be noted that there are more species that can be from the different bird species like the Albertine endemic species, the water birds for travelers interested in you will also get to watch primates like the black and white colobus monkeys and many other rewarding attractions in the park. After the safari experience, you will make your way back to Kigali city for drop-off.
