Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will be picked up by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and driven southwards to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, with lunch en route. After, you will make your way to the park After the safari experience, you will make your way to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe hill top view (mid-range), Gisakura visitor centre (budget)
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park
After an early morning breakfast, head to the visitor center to start your chimpanzee trekking experience in Rwanda. The experience will start with a briefing session on the memorable activity that is the rules and regulations to follow for an amazing time during the activity. After the briefing session you will transfer to the forests of the park to track the habituated chimpanzee troops, during the transfer, you will get to see several rewarding attractions like bird species for instance Pockefellers’s sun bird, Chapin’s flycatcher, Rwenzori Batis, strange weaver, red throated alethe, primate species like colobus monkeys, l’hoest’s monkey, grey cheeked Mangabey, red tailed monkey and so many more. When you get to the troop, observe their feeding patterns, how they coexist with one another, among other rewarding aspects of the primates. At the climax of your time with the chimpanzees, you will take pictures with them, and after you will transfer back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, as the night before.
Day 3: 2nd chimpanzee trekking experience in Rwanda and Isumo waterfalls hike
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to the park headquarters to participate in the 2nd chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe National Park, which will give you the chance to understand more about the species. Get to know more interesting aspects about the species that you might have missed out on. After the experience, you will head back to your hotel for lunch and later on get to participate in the Isumo Trail in Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of the most phenomenal day hikes in Rwanda. There is no view greater and more dramatic than seeing the stunning Isumo waterfalls. Many Travellers who take on this trail want to experience the unrivaled beauty of the waterfalls, get classic photography, and watch several bird species that include Rwenzori Turaco as well as primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and blue monkeys, among others.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali city
After your early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way back to Kigali, having lunch en route.
