Butiaba Escarpment Birding Cecklist : Butiaba escarpment lies in the flat land of the western rift valley on the shores of lake albert in Masindi district once you make your way to Murchison falls national park. Making your way to the escarpment will take you about 4 and a half hours. The escarpment has a rich history attached to it as it was used by a number of people during the 1930’s as a transportation hub for goods crossing borders from eastern democratic republic of Congo and South Sudan but aside from its rich history, over the years the escarpment has attracted a number of travellers from around the world interested in birding in Uganda to visit to watch a number of different bird species.
