Detailed itinerary for your safari
Day 1: Pick up and drive to Gisenyi, Congo Border.
At an agreed location in Kigali city, our guide will pick you up, welcome you, and transfer you to Congo. You will enjoy your drive to the border, watching the rolling hills of Rwanda. On reaching Goma, you will transfer to the grand barrier for check-in at the tourism office, where you will receive your gorilla trekking permit in Congo, Virunga National Park. After, you will be transferred to your hotel in Rumangabo. On arrival, you will have lunch and later on, you will get to participate in the nature walks in the park, which will give you access to a number of attractions like the primates, including the Albertine endemic primates and bird species, and many other rewarding attractions.
Day 2: Mount Nyiragongo hike
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to the Kibati ranger post headquarters, the starting point for all hikes in the park. While at your briefing point, you will be assigned to a ranger and guide to ensure your safety in the park during your Mount Nyiragongo hike. You will make your way to the top, which will take you between 4 hours. You will have the chance to watch the lava lake at a safe viewpoint. After the experience, you will have your meals at your camp as you wait to descend the next day.
Day 3: Reach the summit, descend transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, you will descend Mount Nyiragongo and head back to Kibati at 11:00 am and connect with your guide to transfer you to Nyungwe National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel with your packed lunch, you will be picked up by your guide who will transfer you to Nyungwe National Park, where you will get to participate in chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk. Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda is quite a rewarding activity, which will give you the chance to understand more about the primate species and will give you an amazing time in the park. The activity involves hiking through the forest of the park in order to access the habituated chimpanzee troops. During the activity, you will have the chance to observe how they carry out their daily activities, how they carry out their daily activities, their grooming patterns, how they care for their infants, and how they construct their nests for overnight stay. After the rewarding experience, you will have your lunch and relaxation. After your lunch, you will participate in the canopy walk, which will give you the chance to see a number of rewarding and breathtaking views of the park from an aerial view. You will get to see numerous bird species, a number of primates swinging from one tree branch to another, among other rewarding attractions and views. After the experience, you will head back to your hotel or dinner and overnight stay as the night before.

Day 5: Isumo waterfalls hike and departure
Isumo Trail in Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of the most phenomenal day hikes in Rwanda. There is no view greater and more dramatic than seeing the stunning Isumo waterfalls. Many travellers who take on this trail want to experience the unrivaled beauty of the waterfalls, get classic photography, and watch a number of bird species that include Rwenzori Turaco as well as primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and blue monkeys, among others. Later, you will participate in a primate safari, which will give you access to a number of primate species as they go about their daily activities. After the rewarding experience, make your way to Kigali City, having lunch en route.
