Karisimbi Gorilla Group
Karisimbi Gorilla Group: Gorillas can only be found in three places in the world, Uganda, Congo and Rwanda. Gorilla groups in Rwanda can be found into the northwestern part of the country at the Virunga ranges mostly living 2300 to 4500 altitude.

Susa B group are for physically fit trekkers because they live at highest mountain peak of Rwanda, the Susa river flows across the Susa gorilla home range that’s where they derive their name from. Trekking the group can sometimes take a full day.
The Karasimbi gorilla group is also known as the Susa B gorilla family or group which broke off from the original Susa A group in 2009, the group comprises of 15 members living at the slopes of Karasimbi volcano. Trekking the Karasimbi group can sometimes be prohibited due to its location.
The gorilla families in Rwanda are divided into two one for research purposes and the other for tourism purposes, the gorilla groups habituated for tourism purposes in Rwanda include; Hirwa gorilla group, Sabinyo gorilla group, Bwenge gorilla group, Ugenda gorilla group, Amahoro gorilla group, Susa gorilla group, Umubano gorilla group, Agashya gorilla group and Kwitonda gorilla group,
Tourists can spend one hour encountering mountain gorillas after finding them and a minimum of eight people are allowed to trek the gorilla families. Before splitting the Susa A group comprised of 42 members
The Karasimbi gorilla group is dominated by a silverback called Nyamakangaga who’s so ambitious about protecting his family from any danger. The group comprises of 1 female adult, 2 infants, 4 silverbacks and one black back.
The list of gorilla families habituated for tourism purposes includes; Susa gorilla family, Sabinyo gorilla family, Hirwa gorilla family, Bwenge gorilla family, Ugenda gorilla family, Amahoro gorilla family, group 13, Umubano gorilla family, Kwitonda gorilla family and Karasimbi gorilla family..
The maximum number of people allowed to view a particular group of gorillas is eight and should be of 15 years and above.
Tourists will be given a period of one hour of observing gorillas from the time they find them.

Visit Nyungwe national park
Nyungwe national park boats with a canopy walk that’s above the montane forest about 50 meters from the ground, it provides magnificent views of the forest canopy and good birding opportunities, the park is also gifted with primates such as large numbers of colobus monkeys.
Golden monkey trekking
Golden monkey trekking in Rwanda can be done at the renowned volcanoes national park, the monkeys live at the mountain slopes and all not require a lot of physical fitness, unlike gorillas who you can’t use cameras with a flash light, golden monkeys even love flash cameras and are known for their very playful characters.
Wildlife watching
Rwanda is also gifted with various animals that can be seen at Akagera and Nyungwe national park, some of the examples of the animals found in Rwanda include; leopards, forest elephants, Aardvark, African civet, African clover civet and many others.
Birding
Rwanda is also a birders paradise with various species of birds some of which ate Albertine endemic, the best places for bird watching ate at Akanyaru river, Rugezi camp, Nyungwe national park and many more you can see birds such as Ruwenzori double colored sunbird, grey crowned cranes and African eagle to mention a few.
Cultural experience
Africa is one of the continents with very rich cultural values; the Rwandesse people still stick to their ancient culture in spoilt by modernity, tourists can enjoy cultural dances performed by the locals at various lodges or visit the people and learn about their day to day lives.
There are various accommodation sectors where you can sleep in while at volcanoes national park for gorilla trekking some of the best lodges are; Kinigi guest house, Garr hotel, Bambou gorilla village, volcanoes hotel and many others.
Rwanda boasts with moderate climatic conditions with only two seasons that’s wet and dry the country can b visited all year round but some months or season are favorable than the rest. The best time for visiting is during the dry season from December to February and June to September for the best experiences.
Tourists visiting the country are advised to carry good hiking boots, rain coats, insect repellents, cotton clothing’s and many more this is very necessary during the wet season.
